Lipok's Organic Inputs Production
About the Solution
This solution by the Lipok Social Foundation enables rural households and farmers to produce their own organic inputs using locally available resources. Through simple and low-cost methods, farmers can prepare fertilizers, compost, and pest repellents that improve soil fertility, reduce dependency on chemical inputs, and make agriculture more sustainable.
The playbook provides step-by-step guidance for making a range of inputs that are eco-friendly, cost-effective, and suited to smallholder farmers in semi-arid and rainfed regions. Already tested successfully among more than 600 farmers in Aurangabad, Amravati, and Yavatmal districts of Maharashtra, this solution strengthens both household-level self-reliance and ecological farming systems.
Lipok Social Foundation, based in Maharashtra, works with farming communities to promote sustainable agriculture and rural livelihoods. By enabling farmers to adopt low-cost, resource-efficient, and ecologically sound practices, the foundation addresses critical challenges such as high input costs, declining soil fertility, and over-dependence on chemical farming. Through practical training, field demonstrations, and community-based capacity building, Lipok Social Foundation empowers farmers to transition toward regenerative farming systems that enhance both economic security and ecological balance.
